I bring up this point, because if you are an Astrologer and you look closely enough at some of the transits we are under in December of this year, something new is happening in the sky. Mercury went direct. Pluto went into Aquarius in November. We are approaching a Jupiter/Saturn square. Astrologically speaking, there is a glint of change. Dare I say it, a glimmer of hope.
“But Mike,” I know you are thinking, “things seem so bleak, scary and/or dire in the world! How can you say that when so many people I know are struggling? How can things possibly get better?”
Well, it isn’t my job to predict the nitty-gritty details and specifics of how things will brighten. But I certainly can see that the transits are looking ripe for laying a groundwork of actual humanitarian change beginning to come into focus. If you squint hard enough at certain movements in certain corners of the world now, you can start to see it. Maybe it isn't easy to spot against the cacophonous noise of politics and news, but the seeds are being planted for a different and much better tomorrow.
Sure, the term “better” is subjective, and depending on who you are, this may actually not be the case.
Are you a multi-millionaire? Happy with how your stocks have been performing? Do you enjoy traditional work roles, social structures, financial institutions, corporations and doing things the way things have always been done? Do you generally bristle at the notion of progress? If any of these things apply to you, then you might as well move to Saturn because the definition of “better” may not apply. You successful Capricorn, you.
But we do have a lot of work to get through before we get to the other side to push all the broken old institutions that are holding humanity hostage aside. We will need to go through the collapse of the old institutions in the coming years that were never really working anyway. It won’t be easy.
This week we have a very nice Venus/Jupiter Trine on Thursday which should be a good day to begin winding down and relaxing before the stupidity known as the holidays. Are you not off work until after Friday the 20th this week? Or worse, do you need to work next week before officially beginning the holidays? Or worse yet, are you working during the holidays?
If you can’t take every day off after Wednesday the 18th, then just check out mentally and go through the motions until after the new year. You won’t feel much like working by Thursday. Nor should you. Change is afoot. We all can feel it.
The general energy this week will feel like a (very) temporary “winding down” of the crazy events on all our bingo cards in the world. A calmer week near the end of the year will feel nice, won’t it? Jupiter square Saturn is coming next week, which is a great time for asking ourselves why we are allowing fear to hold us back as individuals who have earned a better reality.
Aren’t we all ready to put down the endless news cycle of insanity, the personal value as humans we have fastened securely to our jobs, and seek the glimmer of creative light that exists inside every one of us?
Change is afoot.

Where are the glimmers of hope in your life, even if it is just a fleeting moment? Given enough time, glimmers can become light, and light can become transformation.
