Fertile fields of possibility
The great harvesters of Astrology! Metaphorically speaking, a Virgo is a magician. These people can grow fields of perfect corn in between a parade of sandstorms, or plant a successful grove of apple trees in northern Alaska. However, all this reward wouldn't be possible without the practical, efficient, and consistent personality Virgo possesses. Stated in simpler terms: this is by far the hardest-working sign in the zodiac. There isn't any real magic to their success: just a good old-fashioned Protestant work ethic.
And Virgo makes this all possible in a quiet, efficient no-nonsense way, usually making sure it’s safe to invest its time and energy before trying something new. No frills, no boasting. This sign loves to be useful and will go out of its way to use its skills in service to support others. Being of service is the soul of Virgo, and this sign needs to be out in the world helping make our machines run, our farms grow, and society function.
Virgo’s mastery is the economy of purpose, and it strives to get things done without fanfare and in short order. The sixth house is about work and being of service, and Virgo energy perseveres but always with a plan in place. If things make sense, Virgo is on board; if not, Virgo will think the idea away, burying passion and emotion to listen to the voice of reason and logic above all else. Practicality usually wins out with natives of this sign. So perhaps Virgo won't actually plant apple trees in Alaska. At least not unless it was necessary and there were no other cold-hardy seedlings available. Then maybe.
Like its fellow earth signs Taurus and Capricorn, Virgo is often the “slow and steady wins the race” type of person—one whose voice may not have been heard above a whisper, but who ended up miles ahead of those who shouted loudest and longest. Virgo is the synthesizer and doer of the Zodiac—the one who puts things together and makes them work. No pretentiousness or feelings of superiority here; just bricks and mortar, nuts and bolts, carefully creating the framework for a successful life.
If Virgo energy falters, it is usually due to its tendency to overthink and overanalyze. These people tend to be cerebral and do not let emotions drive their decision-making. Virgo is more successful when it learns to give as much weight to intuition and desire as it does to logic and reason. It also can be helpful for Virgo natives to examine where they have been hurt emotionally and also how they react to difficult situations. Not everything can be solved with logic, hard work, and burying feelings. This may take some time, but most Virgos are more than happy to have put in the time when they see how their effort has been rewarded.
