Scorpio

The sign with the most notorious reputation in the zodiac certainly lives up to its billing. Or does it? Is this sign actually just misunderstood? On the surface, the energy of Scorpio is intense, private, and sensual. However, the mysterious nature of this sign is not what it seems. Within this fixed water sign are the seeds of metamorphosis. Scorpio energy likes to dig down deep and reinvent itself. It will do this periodically throughout its life. Like a snake, Scorpio is called to shed its skin from time to time to emerge renewed and reborn, often having reformed and rescued itself from the depths.

Because Scorpio is focused on its own growth process, it comes across as not needing others and being self-sufficient. And here is where its reputation likely stems. Self-sufficiency and insight are two of the most attractive traits another human being can possess, which is the real reason it has a reputation for being a sexy mystery. It isn't actually mysterious; it is just focused on its own goals. And it isn't actually inscrutable; it just doesn't need you. It may be sexy, but that's another conversation.

Now, for the fun part: there’s also a dark side to Scorpio energy that differentiates it from all other signs, making it unique and easily recognizable, even when it attempts not to be. When unhealthy, Scorpio can be extreme, and when decisions need to be made, there is no middle ground; Scorpio goes either all in or all out, locked into its position and leaving very little room for negotiation. There may be little or no wavering with this sign, but there is considerable grit and determination. Scorpio can do just about anything it puts effort into. That is, as long as it gets out of its own way!

There can also be what can only be described as the Scorpio “sting” and a tendency towards using manipulation to get what it wants when unhealthy. At times, even the kindest and well-meaning members of the sign can end up hurting those closest to them if they are not careful, if only because they are so tenacious and relentless in their pursuit of something... or someone. They are also very good at seeing beyond the masks you wear and will see what you are hiding in plain view. It is much easier to wound someone when you know a someone's weakness. This comes from being so introspective though. They see the true human condition better than any other sign. If they can see themselves, they see you too, no matter how much you may try to hide. Fun times, no?

And yet, Scorpio’s dynamic and highly charged personality win over many more people than it wounds over the course of a lifetime. This sign is inspiring in its ability to transform itself, to see their deception, and to get at the root of an issue. Misunderstood a bit? We think so!
