Neptune

Do not try to control Neptune. It will slip through your fingers, reminding you softly that the very idea that we are really in full control of our lives, let alone the lives of others, is futile. Neptune is the bringer of illusions, dreams, and a harbinger that things are about to get very, very confusing in your life. When Neptune comes into your world in the form of a major transit, very little will make sense. You may feel completely lost at sea, with nothing to hold onto and no security blankets left. Neptune completely washes away and erodes our plans, our egos, and even our sense of self and individuality. It is here to remind us that we are a part of something much greater that none of us mere humans can fully understand. Because most of us like to have a firm grip on reality and both feet on the ground, this is one of the most challenging planetary influences.

While Neptune does rule hallucinatory drugs and mind-altering substances, if you have a difficult Neptune transit coming up, the absolute worst thing you can do is get hooked on something that will make you lose any further touch with the world. It is also a bad idea to get lost in a new religion, spiritual ideal, or follow someone who claims to be enlightened. They are not. Neptune brings false prophets and saviors into our lives. People who promise that they can help make sense of all the chaos. But remember; they do not know you. They may be wearing a mask of righteousness or wisdom, but it is only a mask. They are just as lost and afraid as you are. Cults are a particular danger if you are under Neptune's influence. Do not trust anyone who claims to have the answers for you.

Another thing to be very careful of during a Neptune transit is labeling yourself. This is because Neptune likes to erode the masks we wear too, and most labels we give ourselves are not actually who we are. Anything that we are hiding from the world will suddenly be thrust into the light of day during these times, and that can be a very, very painful experience. It's like those dreams we have where we are naked at work. Do not be deceitful, as Neptune will punish you.

So how do you deal with these energies if not through spirituality, labels, or escaping reality willingly?

Here is the secret: the correct way to deal with this energy is to actually do nothing! Sit back and listen. Observe the direction life is leading you. You are being called to become a part of something greater, but you are not going to have a clue what that may be until well after this time ends. Neptune conjunct the Sun or Moon are particularly confusing times, and it can take decades after the transit ends to have even a shred of understanding as to what really happened or to what end.

So don't resist. You are lost at sea, and the only thing you can do is keep your head above water and see where the tide might take you.
