Perhaps you have come to this page to read about some terrifying transit that you've been told is imminent. That severe challenges are ahead, and you are about to be punished for some misgiving you have committed in your life. Prepare to be disappointed if so, because Saturn is not your enemy.
But first, let's get the obvious out of the way: this is without a doubt the most maligned and feared planet in the zodiac. When amateur Astrologers hear the two words "Saturn Transit," there is often a great deal of terror that accompanies this statement. And why wouldn't they be afraid? Saturn is the planet that wakes us up from our dream world. It tears us away from happy times, our safe space, our friends and family, and forces us to deal with cold, hard reality. It is the bringer of famine. It is the planetary police officer or tax collector that has come around to get you to pay your dues. It is NOT fun.
But here is the trick to standing up to greet Saturn's challenging energy. While Jupiter gives you everything you think you want, Saturn makes you earn it. Saturn believes that you will never achieve anything worth achieving if you are not willing to work, suffer, and strive for it. It forces the strongest of individuals to push themselves to their limits to earn what they receive. Saturn does not care about your natural talent. You might be the best natural singer in the world, but you'll never get anywhere without working on improving your vocal ability for hours after hour and year after year.
The other thing this planet tends to do is refuse to let you sweep anything under the rug. If you are neglecting something important in your life, Saturn will come along and force you to face it in the form of some harsh transit. This is where it gets its feared reputation, as it tends to make us feel alone, cold, and isolated dealing with our issues by ourselves. Nobody else can save us.
Still, Saturn is the most likely planet to bring us the life of our dreams. Why? Because it simply encourages us to do the things we do not want to do to make these dreams a reality. The things holding us back from getting where we want to go in life often involve things that scare us. They are terrifying. Saturn merely highlights these fears so that we can get out of our own way and be successful. It actually wants us to succeed! So go ahead and celebrate your Saturn transits, but buckle up and be ready for a sobering look at reality, to face your fears, and to work hard. It will be worth it in the end.
Saturn rules the sign Capricorn and is naturally at home in the tenth house. It is particularly strong near the Midheaven.
